Mar 28,  · This wonderful CD of the natural sounds of Japan is neither meditative nor music, and yet it somehow manages to be both. A stunning idea, beautifully conceived by sound artist Andrew Roth -- and it comes with a small booklet that you will actually want to read more than once!5/5(6).

In roman letters we use RA RI RU RE RO but the sound is nothing like the English 'R' but this is the best way to represent the Japanese 'R' sounds. I have seen books do it as DA DI DU DE DO but we don't agree with that method. The problem is that it is really more of a HARD R or HARD L sound depending on the word and person.
