Oct 17, · In all, "Trompe Le Monde" spelled the inevitable "end of the line" - or "end of the era" for Pixies. The deserved cult status kept the loyal fanbase strong and bullding up, but judging it from a 25+ years distance, you can hear the cracks, pushes and shoves on this album /5(K).
General CommentDidn't Newton have something to do with Distance equals rate times time? I remember hearing that Newton once looked into the sun for hours simply to see what would happen - fortunately he wasn't blinded.
Distance Equals Rate Times Time is a good example of this. But the thing I really like about the Pixies’ musicianship is Black Francis’s vocals. On some songs, they can be just normal, but on other songs, he explodes, yelling and screaming at full volume.

The removed chorus from "Subbacultcha" later appeared as the basis for "Distance Equals Rate Times Time", a separate song immediately following the revised "Subbacultcha" on Trompe le Monde. A version of "Tame" that appears on some bootlegs  is purported to Genre: Alternative rock.
